Our compounds

Artech Rubber processes a wide variety of rubber compounds

Our compounds, which we process daily, show a wide variety of polymer types and material properties. that are suitable for specific applications. The different rubber compounds are generally divided into different categories:

High performance materials: FKM (Viton®), FEP/M (Aflas®), FFKM (Kalrez®), FVMQ and PU

Performance materials: EPDM, NBR, HNBR and VMQ

Generally used materials: NR, SBR, IIR and CR (Neoprene®)

However, if our compounds from our standard material portfolio are not sufficient or suitable and you require specific material properties, we will be happy to develop a specific compound for your application.

Our high-performance compounds:

Fluor rubber (FKM or FPM) – Viton®

  • Properties: Excellent chemical, heat and oil resistance.
  • Limitations: Limited low temperature resistance.
  • Temperature range: -20°C to +230°C.
  • Applications: Suitable for aggressive chemical environments.

Aflas® (FEP/M)

  • Properties: High wear resistance and good resistance to steam and amines.
  • Limitations: Less thermal resistance than FKM.
  • Temperature range: -5°C to +210°C.
  • Applications: Used in chemical installations and gaskets.

Fluorsilicone rubber (FVMQ)

  • Properties: Best compromise between thermal and chemical resistance.
  • Limitations: Limited mechanical strength.
  • Temperature range: -60°C to +200°C.
  • Applications: Suitable for aerospace.
our green rubber compounds

Perfluor rubber (FFKM) – Kalrez®

  • Properties: Best chemical and thermal resistance of all rubbers.
  • Limitations: High cost and limited low temperature range.
  • Temperature range: -5°C to +325°C.
  • Applications: Ideal for extreme chemical environments.

Polyurethane rubber (PU)

  • Properties: Exceptional wear resistance, high tensile strength and good ageing resistance.
  • Limitations: Limited thermal and chemical resistance.
  • Temperature range: -40°C to +90°C.
  • Applications: Suitable for rollers, wheels and technical parts.

Our performance compounds:

Nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR)

  • Properties: Excellent oil, fuel and wear resistance.

  • Applications: Suitable for automotive and oil and gas industries.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM)

  • Properties: Excellent resistance to UV, ozone and water. Good chemical and heat resistance.
  • Limitations: Not resistant to oils and greases.
  • Temperature range: -45°C to +150°C.
  • Applications: Widely used in roof sealing and water pipes.

Silicone rubber (VMQ)

  • Properties: Best temperature resistance, excellent electrical insulation.
  • Limitations: Low tensile strength and poor oil resistance.
  • Temperature range: -70°C to +250°C.
  • Applications: Used in medical equipment and kitchenware.
our red rubber compounds

Our generally used compounds:

Natural rubber (NR)

  • Properties: High elasticity, excellent wear resistance and dynamic strength.
  • Limitations: Limited chemical, oil and ageing resistance.
  • Temperature range: -50°C to +70°C.
  • Applications: Ideal for applications where high flexibility is required.

Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)

  • Properties: Synthetic alternative to NR with better wear and thermal resistance.
  • Limitations: Less elasticity and low temperature flexibility than NR.
  • Temperature range: -25°C to +90°C.
  • Applications: Widely used in tires and general rubber products.

Butyl rubber (IIR)

  • Properties: Excellent gas impermeability and chemical resistance.
  • Limitations: Low elasticity and poor oil resistance.
  • Temperature range: -50°C to +120°C.
  • Applications: Ideal for seals and diaphragms.

Chloroprene rubber (CR) – Neoprene®

  • Properties: Good weather, ozone and chemical resistance. Moderate oil and heat resistance.
  • Limitations: Limited low temperature resistance.
  • Temperature range: -35°C to +100°C.
  • Applications: Suitable for industrial hoses and gaskets.

Plastic and Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE)

In addition to rubber, Artech also offers plastic and TPE solutions.

Plastic: Non-elastic, but durable and versatile.

TPE: Elastic, reusable and ideal for less critical applications.
