Corporate Social Responsibility at Artech Rubber

At Artech Rubber, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is not an obligation, but an obviousness within the business operations. We take our responsibility towards employees, relations, customers and the environment very seriously. Safety, sustainability and social involvement are at the core of our company policy.

Sustainable innovations in our business operations

In recent years we have taken important steps to make our overall corporate policy and execution more sustainable. Some examples of our initiatives:

No natural gas: We no longer use natural gas in both production and the office.
Electrical heating and cooling: Our heating and cooling are fully electric or use natural processes.
No ground or tap water: We do not use ground or tap water to cool production equipment.
Heat recovery: The heat absorbed by the cooling water during the cooling of our vulcanization presses is recovered and reused to heat our factory halls.
Solar panels: With more than 330 solar panels, we cover an average of 25% of our energy consumption and even 50% on sunny days.
Electric fleet: Our lease fleet is fully electric.
Production waste reuse: Our production waste is reused, which minimizes our waste and also allows us to use less fossil raw materials to make new products.
Recycling of tire devulcanizate: Every year we process over 150 tons of tire devulcanizate into various technical rubber products.
In collaboration with the municipality of Zutphen we have planted a part of our land with a so-called “Bird Forest”. These are all plants and shrubs with nuts and berries to attract more birds to the industrial estate.
